Penalty Practice Pays Off!
Aston Clinton Cobras U15s enjoyed success at the Chinnor Youth's six-a-side tournament on Saturday 5th May 2012.
Cobras, who play in the W&SB 3rd division, overcame stong opposition to meet W&SB division 1 side Bucks CC in a closely fought final match.
After going ahead 1-0 through a Dan Quirk solo effort, Bucks CC drew level taking the final into extra time and penalties.
In a remarkable sudden-death penalty shoot out, Cobras, who had practised taking penalties during training the evening before the tournament, scored 9 out of 9 penalties with Cobras stopper Jared Milnes blocking with his legs to give Cobras a well earned 10-9 victory.

U18's are League 1 Champions!
Having played eighteen games Aston won fifteen, drawn one and lost only two and being undefeated since October 2nd our U18s have finished on a high to win the SBYL Division 1 title
The season probably hinged on the teams determination away at 3rd placed Wendover when, due to players being unavailable for a number of reasons, they played the entire game with ten men turning out 2-1 winners with a memorable performance.
Nip and tuck at the top with Chalfont Saints Athletic for most of the season, Aston sealed the league with a decisive 4-0 home win against Haddenham Youth, 2 goals apiece for John Kelleher and Chris Stapleton.
Needing just a point going into the last game a thoroughly professional performance meant there was no need to check the result for Chalfont who could only manage a draw at Aylesbury Town Corinthians giving Aston a 5 point margin as Champions.
Manager James Wood along with the players was delighted with the win and now has a league cup Semi-Final v Bourne End to look forward to in the hope of pushing for the double.
